When a community comes together to celebrate, wonderful things happen; the East Finchley Festival 2026 was certainly no exception. On Sunday, 21st June, Cherry Tree Wood was transformed into a bustling centre of live music, local artisans, and joyful family fun. As a nursery and pre-school deeply embedded in the local area, The Learning Experience was immensely proud to sponsor this inclusive, free-to-attend event. From the lively parade march to the countless smiles at our interactive stand, it was a day dedicated to what we do best: helping children and families learn, play, and grow in a supportive environment.
A True Celebration of East Finchley
Before we reflect on our own highlights, we must applaud the sheer scale and diversity of the festival itself. The organisers delivered a spectacular day out for thousands of N2 locals. The grounds featured over 100 local artisans and makers in the Makers' Market, offering everything from bespoke crafts to eco-arts.
Families were spoilt for choice with activities tailored to all ages. Older children engaged in laser tag in the woods, whilst the Storytelling Tent provided a calm escape for the youngest festival-goers. Sports enthusiasts enjoyed tennis and pickleball, and the vast array of street food stalls ensured every culinary taste was catered for. The atmosphere, captured brilliantly on their official Instagram, showcased the very best of our North London community.
Leading the Parade to the Community Stage
The excitement began early with the grand anniversary parade winding its way towards Cherry Tree Wood. We were thrilled that Bubbles the Elephant had the honour of leading the march. Seeing children’s faces light up as they walked alongside Bubbles set a wonderfully positive tone for the entire afternoon. The vibrant procession culminated at the Community Stage, where the festival officially kicked off at 12:00 PM. Naturally, Bubbles and the dedicated team from The Learning Experience were right there to lead the opening celebrations. At The Learning Experience, our beloved characters are an integral part of how we teach essential life skills and values, and bringing that joy out of the nursery into the local community was a definite highlight for us.
Meeting Our Local Families
Throughout the day, our team manned an interactive stand. We want to extend a massive thank you to each and every parent, child, and community member who stopped by to say hello and party with Bubbles.
These face-to-face moments are invaluable. They allowed our educators to answer your fantastic questions about early years education, discuss our unique L.E.A.P. curriculum, and help parents book highly requested tours of The Learning Experience East Finchley. Whether you were a currently enrolled family popping by to support us or a prospective parent exploring local childcare options, your enthusiasm made our day truly special.
Why We Support Local Events
The East Finchley Festival is completely volunteer-run and relies on sponsorships to remain a free, inclusive event for everyone. For The Learning Experience, stepping in as a sponsor was a natural decision. We believe that our responsibility to children extends far beyond the walls of our nurseries. Fostering a positive community impact is core to our brand identity, ensuring that families have access to enriching, joyful, and safe local experiences.
Thank you once again to the festival organisers, the brilliant performers, the local vendors, and most importantly, the families who make East Finchley such a wonderful place to live and learn. We are already looking forward to next year! And if you want to see some happy faces from this event, check out our instagram!
